As part of the twice-monthly SUD Care Continuum ECHO series, Pam Tsinteris, MD, MPH will present a didactic entitled "Pre-release preparations of justice-involved persons with SUD and linkage to care upon release." The didactic will be followed by a related de-identified patient case presentation from an ECHO participant along with recommendations from the panel of experts and attendees.

This training will discuss strategies to identify patients experiencing a stimulant overdose and will focus on particular strategies for the care of a patient experiencing an acute psychosis secondary to psychostimulant ingestion. The warning signs of psychostimulant overdose and strategies to mitigate the harm associated with the patient’s psychotic state will be discussed. De-escalation of patients experiencing psychosis secondary to psychostimulant intoxication in the clinic and community setting will be reviewed.
Intended audienceThe entire multidisciplinary team providing treatment for substance use disorders in an office-based setting as well as anyone in a clinical or non-clinical position that is interested in learning about harm reduction.
