This training will review the medical ethics and tenets of harm reduction and why they are important in expanding the care continuum of people who use drugs and alcohol. It will provide practical examples of how to write and create policies from a harm reduction perspective. It will include the legalities of including harm reduction practices in different healthcare settings and considerations for harm reduction for providers with licenses.
Intended audienceThe entire multidisciplinary team providing treatment for substance use disorders in an office-based setting as well as anyone in a clinical or non-clinical position that is interested in learning about harm reduction.

This 2-hour training will provide an overview of the principles of methamphetamine use disorder and treatment.

This no-cost course reviews topics covered in the certification exam for addictions nursing and is intended to support nurses preparing to sit for the exam.
Intended audienceRegistered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, with experience treating patients with addiction, who intend to sit for the CARN or CARN-AP exam.

As part of the twice-monthly MA OBAT ECHO series, Justin Alves, RN, ACRN, CARN, will present a didactic entitled "Methamphetamine Use Disorder". The didactic will be followed by a related de-identified case presentation from an ECHO participant along with recommendations from the panel of experts and attendees.
