This training focuses on homeless and unstably housed patients, the type of substances this population uses and special treatment/management that is required.

This training focuses on specific treatment needs of individuals with substance use disorder who are experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. The session will cover major substances of use among this population, proper use of medications for opioid use disorder, and strategies for improving treatment among homeless and unstably housed patients. It will also address housing and emergency assistance resources in Massachusetts.

Multidisciplinary teams providing treatment for substance use disorders
As former Department of Housing and Community Development Regional Supervisor for both the South Shore and Boston, Paul was responsible for benefits and eligibility for the emergency assistance programs and other state managed entitlement programs. As state employee for 28 years, he has worked in many different roles of policy and recipentient services. Paul is a person in recovery and works at the South End Community Health Center and is the Massachusetts director of NAMA Recovery, a national nonprofit whose mission is to provide educational and advocacy support to people on medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD).
