This is a special session of Recovery Coach Chat Live, an introductory workshop from SADOD on grief after overdose death.

Recovery Coach Chat Live is a dedicated space for recovery coaches and peer specialists providing direct support to recoverees/patients in the field of addiction.

Description

This special session of Recovery Coach Chat Live will be an introductory workshop from SADOD (Support After a Death by Overdose), Resources & RIVER: Grief Support After a Substance Use Death.

This 90-minute workshop includes a brief overview of SADOD’s resources (see the Quick Guide) and BSAS’s Coping with Overdose Fatalities: Tools for Public Health Workers. The main purpose of the workshop is to introduce the RIVER approach to peer grief support (Relate, Invite, Validate, Empower, and Reassure). There will be at least 20 minutes for discussion.

Registration is required for this session. Zoom details will be sent via email upon registration.

A certificate of completion will be provided to those who complete the workshop and post-evaluation.

This workshop is for recovery coaches and peer specialists who provide direct support to recoverees/patients in the field of addiction.
