Harm Reduction and Motivational Interviewing will be a 1-hour training with counselors and social workers from the Old Colony YMCA in Brockton, Massachusetts. This training will focus on harm reduction techniques and how to conduct motivational interviewing for patients.

Intended audience

Old Colony YMCA mental health workers

Objectives

- Define the principles of harm reduction.
- Explain the importance of using medically appropriate language for substance use disorder.
- Describe the spirit of motivational interviewing (MI) and its four processes.
